Definition
WPA2 is not a legal term but rather a technical security protocol used to protect Wi-Fi networks from unauthorized access. While it is not found in legal dictionaries, courts and regulators do reference it when evaluating whether a business took reasonable steps to secure customer data.
Example
If your business stores customer payment information and you failed to use WPA2 encryption on your Wi-Fi network, a court could find that you were negligent in protecting that data.
