term of agreement
Definition
The term of agreement is simply how long a contract lasts from start to finish. It tells both parties exactly when their obligations begin and when they end, so everyone knows the timeframe they are committed to.
Example
If you sign a one-year lease for your storefront starting January 1st, that twelve-month period is the term of agreement, and both you and your landlord are bound by the contract's rules until December 31st.
Watch Out
Pay close attention to auto-renewal clauses, because many contracts will automatically extend the term for another full cycle if you forget to send written notice that you want to cancel before a specific deadline.
