Definition
Systems access refers to the permission a person or company has to use, view, or interact with another party's computer systems, software, databases, or digital tools. Contracts often spell out exactly who gets this access, what they can do with it, and when that access must be cut off.
Example
If you hire a bookkeeper and give them login credentials to your accounting software, that arrangement would typically be governed by a systems access clause in your contract with them.
Watch Out
Always make sure your contracts specify that access gets terminated immediately when a working relationship ends, because failing to revoke access can leave your sensitive business data vulnerable to misuse.
