Definition
Remote wipe is the ability to erase all data from a phone, laptop, or other device by sending a command over the internet, even if you are nowhere near that device. Businesses use this power to protect sensitive information when an employee leaves the company or when a device gets lost or stolen.
Example
If a salesperson quits and refuses to return their company phone, you can trigger a remote wipe to delete all customer contact lists, emails, and financial records before that information falls into the wrong hands.
Watch Out
