rate card

Definition

A rate card is a document that lists the standard prices a business charges for its products or services. Think of it as your official published price list that you share with customers or clients so they know exactly what things cost before agreeing to work with you.

Example

A freelance graphic designer might have a rate card showing that logo design costs $500, social media graphics cost $150 per post, and website banners cost $200 each.

Watch Out

Once you share a rate card with a client, they may treat those prices as firm commitments, so make sure you include language stating that rates are subject to change or that custom projects may be quoted separately.
