notificación escrita

Definition

Written notification is a formal way of officially telling someone something important by putting it in writing, whether through a letter, email, or other documented format. Courts and contracts often require written notification because it creates a clear record that the other party actually received the information.

Example

If your lease requires 30 days written notification before you move out, you cannot just call your landlord and tell them verbally since you must send a letter or email that documents your intention to leave.

Watch Out

Many contracts specify exactly how written notification must be delivered, such as by certified mail or email only, so sending it the wrong way could mean the notice is legally invalid even if the other party reads it.
