Gratuities are gifts, tips, or extra payments given to someone because of their position or job, often to influence their decisions or actions in your favor. Example
If a city inspector who reviews your restaurant regularly accepts free meals from you, that inspector may be violating anti-gratuity laws even if you never directly ask for a favor in return.
