Covid safety guidelines are health and safety rules issued by government agencies, like the CDC or OSHA, telling businesses how to protect employees and customers from COVID-19 transmission. These guidelines covered things like mask requirements, social distancing, ventilation improvements, and sanitation procedures. Depending on when and where your business operated, some of these guidelines carried the force of law while others were simply strong recommendations.
Example
A restaurant owner who followed posted occupancy limits and required staff to wear masks was complying with covid safety guidelines, which also helped protect the business from liability if a customer claimed they got sick on the premises.
Watch Out
