attribution
Definition
Attribution means giving proper credit to the original creator of something, like a piece of writing, a photo, or a design. When you use someone else's work, attribution is how you publicly acknowledge that they made it and that you did not.
Example
If you use a stock photo on your website, the photographer's license might require you to display their name next to the image as attribution.
Watch Out
Skipping required attribution can count as copyright infringement even if you legally paid for or licensed the work.
