appendix

Definition

An appendix is a section added to the end of a contract or legal document that contains supporting materials, exhibits, or extra information that is too detailed or lengthy to include in the main body of the document. Even though it sits at the back, the appendix is still a legally binding part of the document and carries the same weight as everything else written in it.

Example

If you sign a service agreement with a vendor, the main contract might describe the general terms while an appendix at the back contains the actual price list, technical specifications, or a detailed project timeline.

Watch Out

Many business owners skim or skip the appendix entirely, but it often contains critical details like fees, deadlines, or obligations that can come back to bite you if you miss them.
