amended
Definition
Amended simply means that a document, contract, or legal filing has been officially changed or updated from its original version. When something is amended, the new version replaces or modifies specific parts of the old one, while typically keeping the rest intact.
Example
If you and a vendor signed a contract in January and later agreed to change the payment terms, you would sign an amended contract that reflects those new terms.
Watch Out
Always make sure any amended document is signed and dated by all parties, because an unsigned amendment is usually not legally binding.
