all-inclusive flat fee
Definition
An all-inclusive flat fee is a single, fixed price that covers everything involved in a service, with no surprise charges added on top afterward. Unlike hourly billing, you pay one agreed-upon amount regardless of how much time or effort the provider puts into completing the work.
Example
A lawyer might charge you a $1,500 all-inclusive flat fee to form your LLC, which covers all their time, paperwork, and filing costs so you never see an unexpected invoice.
Watch Out
Always get a written definition of exactly what the flat fee covers, because some providers use the term loosely and still tack on expenses like filing fees or postage as separate charges.
